A Joint Stamp Issue Commemorates a Holocaust Survivor

Israel and Austria together issued a stamp commemorating the memory of Holocaust Survivor Simon Wiesenthal.He was a Jewish Austrian Holocaust survivor who became famous after World War II for his work as a Nazi hunter. After his liberation from concentration he spent his life in the search of Nazi officers who were responsible for the killing of Jews in concentration camps.
The stamp released to commemorate his work depicts a portrait of his in a Star of David. The text elements on the stamp are in both German and Hebrew. His message “Justice, not Vengeance” is given in English, German and Hebrew.
A special technology laser etching and lacing is used for the making of the stamp which is a world premier technology.
